The speaker you hear in the lessons is Eoin Ó Conchúir, an Irish speaker from Ennis, County Clare, Ireland. He speaks mainly the Munster (southern) dialect of Irish.

That being said, we’re very conscious of teaching Irish (Gaelic), and not specifically a single dialect of it.

We want you to learn Irish (Gaelic) first, and specialise in a dialect later.

Native speakers understand all dialects, as they’re spoken across the Irish language media.Feeling overwhelmed by which dialect to learn? Stuck because you’re concentrating on one dialect? Don’t fall into the trap of never learning Irish just because of our dialects.

Instead,  here’s why you should learn Irish now, and specialise in a dialect later.

What dialect do you use for your lessons?
